Good hosting, slow support

I signed up for the WordPress Hosting plan last month for my small business website. The setup process was pretty straightforward, and my site has been running smoothly with good uptime so far. I also got a free SSL certificate which was a nice bonus. However, I had a question about setting up a specific plugin, and customer support took nearly 24 hours to respond to my ticket. The answer was helpful in the end, but the wait was a bit frustrating. Overall, good value for the price, but they could improve on response times for support.

Decent deal on Linux Hosting

I needed a basic Linux Hosting plan with cPanel for a new project. I saw a Cpanel hosting promo and decided to try 24host. The price for the first year was very competitive, which was a big selling point for me. Getting cPanel included made managing things easy. So far, the service has been reliable. It felt like a good deal overall.

Easy domain transfer

I transferred a .com Domain Name. The process was quick and easy to follow. Everything worked as expected. Good service.

Is the free SSL certificate actually 'free' or is it like, free for a month then they charge you loads? Just checking because some hosts are sneaky.

D Daisy Romero 3 weeks ago
Nah, it's free. Comes with the hosting, not a trial or anything. You don't have to pay extra for it during renewal either, that's just part of the package.

It's genuinely free with most of their hosting plans. It's usually Let's Encrypt which is standard now.

Are these guys actually based in the UK? Like, is the support team local or am I gonna get someone from halfway across the world?

O Omar Silva 1 month ago
From my experience, their support is definitely UK-based. Got a quick reply from someone with a very British name when I had an issue last month.

They're a UK company for sure, and I'm pretty sure their data centers are here too. Helps with latency for UK visitors.

Hey guys, thinking about moving my wordpress site here. Is it actually good for wordpress? I'm currently with 123 Reg and it's been kinda slow lately.

J Julia T. 1 month ago
Yeah, I've had my WP site with them for about a year now. No complaints, it's been pretty snappy. They seem to optimize for it.

They do claim to specialize in WP hosting, so you'd hope so right? I've heard good things about their managed WP stuff too if you don't want to deal with updates yourself.

Thinking of switching from SiteGround, but I've got a bunch of domain names. Do they make it easy to transfer them over, or is it a huge headache?

R Rosa Foster 1 month ago
I transferred a .com and a .co.uk last year, wasn't too bad. They have a process on their site, took a couple of days for the .com, the .uk was faster.

They should handle transfers fine. I think they even offer some deals if you transfer multiple domains at once. Always check that though.

Quick question about the new customer discounts. If I get the WordPress hosting intro offer, does that apply for the whole year, or just the first month?

J Julia Kaur 1 month ago
It's usually for the first billing cycle, so if you pick an annual plan, you get the discount for that whole first year. But renewals go back to the regular price, just so you know.

Yeah, what they said. First year usually. After that, it's full price, so factor that into your budget.
